THE MICHAEL DEASE/CHRIS MADSEN QUINTET

The Michael Dease/Chris Madsen Quintet was formed in 2004 in New York City when the trombonist and saxophonist were enrolled as students at the Juilliard School. Their debut album, The Takeover, was self-released in 2005 and largely featured their original compositions. As time went on, the two went their separate ways professionally, with Madsen relocating to Chicago and Dease finding a home in East Lansing, Michigan. Years later, the pair reunited with a string of Chicago shows in January 2020, and are thrilled to be performing at the 2022 Hyde Park Jazz Festival. The band's second album is forthcoming.
