23-year-old saxophonist LENARD SIMPSON is a rising jazz musician from Milwaukee, WI. In 2013, as a high schooler, Simpson was selected to participate in the prestigious 2013 Grammy Camp Jazz Session. In 2015, he was a winner of the Luminarts Jazz Competition in Chicago. Since moving to Illinois, he has had the opportunity to play with artists such as Brian Lynch, Robert Irving III, Charles Heath, Ari Brown, and Bobby Broom. He is also a member of Chicago drummer George Fludas’ For Funks’ Sake.

Simpson teaches at several jazz camps including The Wisconsin Conservatory of Music, Northern Illinois University, and Birch Creek. Simpson is a recent graduate of Northern Illinois University, where he studied with Professors Geof Bradfield and Reggie Thomas. He resides in Chicago and freelances around the Midwest.
