Vibraphonist, composer, producer, and singer, Justin “Justefan” Thomas moved from Baltimore, where he had studied with Joe Locke, to Chicago to attend DePaul University. He plays genres from jazz to hip-hop, R&B and pop. Justefan has shared stages all around the world with greats such as Lionel Hampton, Hank Jones, Cyrus Chestnut, Max Roach, Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Jazz Orchestra, Dana Hall, Rodney Whitaker, Charles Heath IV, Maggie Brown, Hamiet Bluiett, Corey Wilkes, Dee Alexander, Ernest Dawkins, Ryan Cohan, Kahil El Zabar, and Marquis Hill. He has been a special guest performer for the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Jazz Philharmonic Orchestra, Chicago Jazz Ensemble, Chicago International Orchestra, and Chicago Jazz Orchestra. He has been featured with Ludwig & Stiegler Co. on both MTV and VH1 at the Austin City Limits Festival and has played piano in an episode of FOX TV’sEmpire.  The New York Times described him as  “a mallet virtuoso with a spillover of ideas and an appealingly liquid phraseology.” Appearing on a myriad of albums, most recently on Ludracris’ Ludaversal,Justefan is also a solo artist, having released several albums under his own name: The Juste EP, The Prelude, and his most recent, Vibed Out Remixes.
