JOAN COLLASO is an international vocalist and Emmy Award winner well known in Chicago for her performances, recordings, and productions. She has performed in films, on television (Oprah Winfrey; Empire), in radio and TV commercials, and in recordings. She has performed supporting vocals in concert for musical giants like Stevie Wonder, George Duke, Al Jarreau, and most recently, the “Queen of Soul” herself: Ms. Aretha Franklin.

Collaso is the creator, director, and producer of three musical productions: Eleven Jazzy Divas; A Tribute to Nancy Wilson & Shirley Horn; and A Timeless Revue. Collaso is also founder, executive, and artistic director of Timeless Gifts Youth Program for the Performing Arts, a not-for-profit organization that provides instruction from world-class musicians and arts technicians during a 7-week summer program for aspiring young performers in Chicago. She is coordinator for The Great Black Music Project, which produces Jazz Mondays on Northeastern Illinois University’s south campus. In addition, Collaso promotes, hosts, and performs for the Hyde Park Jazz Society’s 5th Sunday Jam. A Kenwood High School alumna and long-time former Hyde Park resident, Collaso is ecstatic to be included in the Hyde Park Jazz Festival.
