Logan Center for the Arts: Penthouse

Singer, composer, arranger, and producer GRAZYNA AUGUSCIK has won praise and admiration for her “hauntingly beautiful” and “strikingly original vocal style” (JAZZIZ). Her unorthodox approach to rewriting classics is both tribute and adventure, while her originals give a fresh taste of uncanny flavor. Beginning her professional music career in Europe, Grazyna has made Chicago her home since 1994. Howard Reich of the Chicago Tribune has written, “Auguscik and her ensemble sound like nothing else you ever heard; they are out of this world. This must-see performer is one of the best voices to be heard today.” In 2010 and 2017, she hosted performances to celebrate the music of Frederic Chopin at Millennium Park and across the city.

The Group features Grazyna on vocals; ROB CLEARFIELD on piano; JON DEITEMYER on drums; JOHN KREGOR on guitar; and MATT ULERY on bass.
