A Chicago native with a childhood steeped in performing and visual arts training, SADIE WOODS graduated from Columbia College with a degree in music in 2000. Since then, she has had exciting careers as curator and deejay, showcasing her talents everywhere from academia and museums to nightclubs and boutiques. Beginning as a curator at the arts nonprofit Marwen and Gallery 718 in Pilsen, Sadie used her deejay skills to create sound installations for her exhibitions. In 2007, she co-founded the deejay collective White Label with DJ Madrid, focusing on deejay performance and music curation for the service industry, cultural institutions, and tastemaker, with clients like Oprah Winfrey and collaborators like Theaster Gates. Sadie has held deejay residencies for over a decade throughout Chicago at bars, hotels, and restaurants including the Crimson Lounge, Dana Hotel Vertigo Sky Lounge, House of Blues Foundation Room, LuxBar, and National 27. She holds an MFA in sound from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a visual arts certificate from the University of Chicago Graham School.
