A Chicago native with a childhood steeped in performing and visual arts training, SADIE WOODS graduated from Columbia College and has had exciting careers as both curator and deejay, showcasing her talents everywhere from academia to nightclubs, boutiques to museums. Often, Sadie lent her deejay skills beyond her numerous residencies to create sound installations for her exhibitions. In 2007, Sadie co-founded the deejay collective White Label with DJ Madrid having a focus on deejay performance and music curation for the service industry, cultural institutions, and tastemakers. Sadie has held deejay residencies for over a decade throughout Chicago at local bars, hotels, and restaurants, including Crimson Lounge, Dana Hotel Vertigo Sky Lounge, House of Blues Foundation Room, LuxBar, Nacional 27, Mercadito Double A Lounge, Radisson Blu Hotel Filini Bar, Rodan, Sushi Samba, Tippling Hall, Untitled, and W Hotel. Receiving a Visual Arts Certificate from the University of Chicago Graham School and completing her MFA in Sound at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Sadie is currently a resident artist at ACRE, School of the Art Institute’s Nichols Tower Homan Square, and a participant in the Independent Curators International's Curatorial Intensive in Dakar, Senegal. Sadie currently deejays under the name Sadie Rock and will be playing music for dance at this stage.
