Over the last decade, Hyde Park’s cultural profile has grown exponentially. The home of the city’smost popular attractions—including the University of Chicago, the Museum of Science and Industry, and Frank Lloyd Wright’s Robie House—Hyde Park is also a hot spot for rising stars in visual art, music, and dance. Help us promote the cultural assets of our community and provide visitors with the opportunity to experience the rich jazz heritage of Chicago’s South Side by sponsoring Hyde Park’s First Annual Jazz Festival.
Produced by the Hyde Park Cultural Alliance, the University of Chicago, and the Hyde Park Jazz Society, the festival will bring together world-famous musicians and local up-and-coming acts for 15 hours of back-to-back entertainment for serious music lovers and families alike. The festival’s musical trolleys will transport people to a variety of creative and unexpected music venues, including the Hyde Park Art Center, the DuSable Museum of African American History, the Oriental Institute, the Smart Museum of Art, and Frank Lloyd Wright’s Robie House.
From the opening headline concert featuring Orbert Davis to kid-friendly music events and workshops to a historical “Jazz Fęte” performance with Willie Pickens, Maggie Brown, Corey Wilkes, Dee Alexander, and more, the festival promises to celebrate the music and culture in Hyde Park. The highly publicized, free-to-the-public Hyde Park Jazz Festival will benefit the Hyde Park Cultural Alliance, which serves the Hyde Park community.
Several sponsorship opportunities are available to increase your company’s visibility in the dynamic and diverse communities of Chicago’s Mid–South Side, including Hyde Park, Kenwood, Bronzeville, Woodlawn, and South Shore.
